Power systems: • Independently use software tools to design and develops project documentation. • Define and understand the impact of energy on the environment. • Knows the role and type of relay protection and understands the principles of protective relay settings. • Understands the role and structure of the control of the electric power system. • Understands and defines the parameters of the power distribution and transmission networks (switching status, voltage, load profile, stability, security, voltage and frequency control) • Understands the role and structure of the electricity market. • Understands and calculates the parameters of the grounding system and network elements. • Understand the role of generating units and methods of optimal engagement • Knows the nature and methods of modeling transient overvoltages • Understand and analyze the working principles, characteristics and models of different distributed sources of electricity. • Calculates the effects of the integration of distributed sources of electricity on the operating modes of the power networks in terms of current and voltage, stability, power quality. Automation and industrial electrical engineering: • Applies methods of optimization of power and distribution systems. • Define and analyze advanced (smart) power networks and systems. • Through the work on a master thesis develops the ability of individual work in a multidisciplinary environment. • Define, describe and create parametric and non-parametric models of complex electro-dynamic systems, perform simulations, and compares the results with the results by measurements on real systems. • Analyze and create a control method of the complex electrical, computer, electro-mechanical and other systems - drives, uses a variety of methodologies and control algorithms (optimal, robust, adaptive, digital, analog, fuzzy, non-linear, distributed, ...). • Perform the synthesis of elements of the automatic control system in accordance with the completed analysis and functional requirements. • Projects the individual control systems or their components (electrical installations, electrical machines, technology processes, power electronics, microcontroller systems, the manipulators, robot systems, etc.). • Investigate, analyze, adapt and implement modern control systems, intelligent (SMART system) in the everyday environment and industry. • Develops and controls the project documentation which is essential in all phases from the application to the production of main design documentation of engineering projects.
